1977 LP400 Lamborghini Countach. The car was first brought into the country by Aaron Morse of Kiehl's Cosmetics in late 1977, at the Port of Baltimore. See the original United States EPA/Customs import document. Owner purchased in 1999 from Mark Steve, La Jolla, CA with 16,715 mi. on the odometer, driven until 2005 when a complete and comprehensive restoration was undertaken. When finished, the car was track tested then entered in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
This is the only Lamborghini production car chosen to be on the field for the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. V12, smoked silver exterior, burnished red Connelly leather interior, 18,505 mi., extraordinary example. 3.5 year no-expense spared engine out complete preservation restoration. Track tested. No stories. Arguably one of the best in the world.

The above picture, which appeared in The Complete Book of Lamborghini by Pete Lyons, 1988, opened my eyes to the possibility of changing my original orange exterior/white interior LP400 to the color of this one-off factory model. Before I did so, I contacted the designer, Mr Ghandini himself, and asked for his opinion and support. He was enthusiastic in his reply, and wrote me a letter to that effect. That's the story behind the color combination on my car.
